Prime Ministerial Debate. The BBC has several Prime Ministerial Debates before the May 6 election. This is actually the first time for that, and the second one just finished. I watched most of it and was impressed with all three, as they took questions from the audience and debated the issues. It was interesting to notice the atmosphere on different issues in Britain right now. On immigration, for example, there was almost a competition on who is the most restrictive - with David Cameron the only one saying that immigration had benefits.

Gordon Brown is the master of detail, quick and competent but probably comes across as less sympathetic. David Cameron is more general, speaking more in value terms but is not the winner in this format. So it is easy to see how Nick Clegg emerges from this as the frontrunner of sorts. He is serious but funny, and seems to have a near perfect sense of what the audience expects.

Two thrilling weeks - towards a hung parliament?
