Technical Difficulties - And More. You may have noticed that there have been technical problems with this web log during the last hours or so. All that can be done is now being done to solve the problems so that it will run as smoothly as usual shortly. Until then, however, just a brief line about small - or big - events that have taken place. For example, Linda and I celebrated our wedding in Gotland last Friday with a great party. Second, there has been a lot of attention about the recent growth figure for Sweden. It is high and it would have been great if that were all the truth. But if you calculate with the demographic development at the same time and also GDI and not GDP, it is smaller. But most importantly, a country?s economy cannot be assessed from a quarter of a year. In the longer perspective, growth is still depressingly low. Thus, reform is still needed.

Several Swedish nuclear recators have been stopped due to technical problems. The left is trying to use the incident in the election campaign as an argument for the state to force all reactors to be permanently shut down. But, if anything, this should be an argument for lifting the current ban on building new nuclear power. The old should be replaced by the new and better generation of reactors.
