Privatize Away the Debt! I have to recommend an article in Newsweek by the great historian Niall Fergusson, author of - among others - Empire and The Ascent of Money. We usually discuss how debt countries can escape their mess in terms of either increasing taxes or decreasing poublic spending. But selling off government property seems to be off limits, though it may actually be the easiest way out.
